Ballethnic Academy of Dance is the official school of Ballethnic Dance Company, Inc. It is a family-oriented institution that provides children and adults from a wide range of ethnic and socio-economic backgrounds high quality dance training. This community-conscious component of Ballethnic Dance Company, focuses on the full development of each student providing mentors in a nurturing environment.
The methodology of the academy stresses disciplined lives, sound bodies, and focused minds for those children and adults who choose to train within its walls. Staffed with experts in the field of dance, the academy provides intensive training through a variety of dance techniques including Ballet, Pointe, Pre-Pointe, Pas De Deux, Modern, Hip-Hop, African, Tap and African Drumming. Dance training is available for all skill-levels ranging from beginners as young as 3 years of age to adults and professionals.


Ages 6 to 7
Students will discover the foundational techniques of ballet and tap. Through fun movement activities, they will enhance their motor skills while embracing the joy of dance.

Ages 8 to 10
Students will improve their ballet skills by being introduced to basic ballet positions. This is great opportunity to sharpen their technique and build confidence on the dance floor. We look forward to witnessing their progress!

Ages 11 +
In this level, students will learn the foundational ballet barre techniques and be introduced to center exercises you'll also get to explore pirouettes and the eight positions of the body


Ages 12 +
Students will execute movements with a high level of technique showcasing their ability to perform as a cohesive group. This training prepares them for advancement to a pre-professional, fostering teamwork and discipline essential for future success.

Ages 6 to 21
The Danseur Develop Project, is a unique program, conceived and directed by Co-Founder Waverly T. Lucas, II.
Minority and disadvantaged young boys and men are provided a highly structured and nurturing environment to learn classical dance using an athletic approach. Young men between ages 6 and 21 are taught skills such as discipline, responsibility, accountability and teamwork.


Ages 18 +
This Level includes African, Modern, Jazz, and Ballet. These are mixed level classes that range from beginning to intermediate level instruction.
